WARRANTY & SERVICE FAQS

We all know there's nothing worse than your unit breaking down! Here at Pentland, we offer a 1-3 year warranty on all of our units as well as the option to choose between a parts-only warranty and a parts and labour warranty. Every company's warranty works differently so it can be confusing to know what's actually covered, this blog answers some of our most frequently asked warranty and service questions.

1. How does our warranty work?

All of our units are sold with a 1-3 year warranty. When purchasing your unit you are able to choose between a parts only warranty and a parts and labour warranty. What warranty coverage you will receive depends on which warranty you choose. We only offer parts only warranty to the Isle of Man, Isle of White and the Chanel Islands.

2. What's covered in parts only warranty?

Exactly what it says on the tin, only parts are covered! Pentland agrees to replace all defective electromechanical parts like for like or with a component which is compatible with the unit. Please note, this warranty does not cover the unit's accessories e.g shelves, baskets. These parts will be sent out to you via post so you can either replace the part yourself or get a qualified engineer to replace them, depending on the part.

3. What's covered in parts and labour warranty?

The parts and labour warranty includes everything within the parts-only warranty as well as access to our UK-wide network of refrigeration engineers. Once you have submitted your claim we aim to get an engineer out to you within two working days, however, during busier periods this may take longer.

4. How to make a warranty claim?

The best way to make a claim is to contact us via email at [email protected]. Please make sure to include the serial number, model and purchase date of your unit, provide full details of the fault and answer any questions asked by our service team honestly so they are able to attempt to determine the fault remotely - this will allow you to get the quickest resolution to your issue as they are able to choose the appropriate course of action to fix your unit.

5. How long will it take to repair my unit?

Our engineers carry a wide range of spare parts and will endeavour to fix your unit on the first visit, however, depending on the fault with your unit another visit may be necessary. This will be arranged as soon as possible after the first visit. If an engineer has been out to your unit and it has stopped working again, inform us straight away, and we will make sure the engineer comes back out to fix the problem as soon as possible.

6. What kind of things wouldn't be covered under your warranty?

We don't cover broken accessories such as shelves, clips etc and our maintenance services will not cover broken door seals or blocked condensers. If you are unsure whether the fault with your unit will be covered, please don't hesitate to get in touch and our service team will be able to advise you.
